buying ice skates online?

I am planning on buying a pair of ice hockey skates online because they are cheaper for me than going into a pro shop and buying them. What should I do before I buy the skates online?

I would still get fitted at a pro shop. You can always say, “Thanks…I can’t buy them today, but I may be back,” and do your bargin shopping. The shop should be able to give you a recommendation for brand, model, size and width based upon your skating level. When you have all that, check the internet. There are various skate sites that sell skates or eBay also sells new and used skates. If you’re really looking for a deal and don’t mind used skates, also try sports equipment re-sale shops. Sometimes you can find some really good quality skates at those shops for a steal. Typically, the people working at the shop don’t have much knowledge about skates to know to put a higher price on them!! I found a pair of figure skates that were worth about around $500 there — if you would have bought them on consignment at a skate shop — and paid $52.00 for them. Not a bad deal!
